A cool spy movie that takes place in the 60's. In 1968, American intelligence officer Napoleon Solo and British secret agent Illya Kuryakin encounter a beautiful woman in New York City with a dark secret - she has been brainwashed to become a Soviet sleeper agent. The woman is part of an international criminal syndicate led by the mysterious criminal known as Control or Mr. Waverly. The two heroes must use every trick in the book to foil Waverly's plan for world domination while learning about some very interesting gadgets along the way. United States of America, the 1970s. A series of terrorist acts have been committed around the world by a group calling itself 'the Syndicate', with a leader operating from a base in Switzerland. The Syndicate is known to have a number of high-tech weapons at its disposal for its attacks, being specifically interested in theft of nuclear material and "hacking" into computers. In the United States, the FBI has been questioning various potential suspects as part of an investigation into Syndicate activities. Among those they interrogate is Dr. Otto Kuryakin, brother to Agent Illya Kuryakin from "The Man from U.N.C.L. E." and previously a KGB agent and a super-spy for the Soviet Union. Through his brother, he learns of his brother's demise and speculates as to whether or not Mr. Waverly is responsible for it, as well as the death of Kuryakin's love for intelligence, Inga. He is not aware that Illya has been killed by Waverly himself. In Washington, D.C., Senator Edward M. Earle, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, is working to find a solution for the problem of the Syndicate. He authorizes a black-bag operation where government agents collect his files on Syndicate activities from his office. The agent in charge of the case asks for permission to open the computer files found on Earle's desk and study them, as they may provide clues to break into computers that the Syndicate would use to communicate with their agents. Earle refuses, saying that they must not open anything that is still encrypted and that he would prefer that his own staff handle it. In Switzerland, an elderly man is found murdered at a building site. It is known as "Chateau Noir", and appears abandoned and neglected. A note is found on the body, reading "Waverly expects you."
